Got Enough Wisdom?

Ive never read James 1:5 like this before.

If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask God, who gives generously to all without reproach, and it will be given him.

Read the first part again.

If any of you lacks wisdom...

Its very rare that I have the occasional day that I feel wise. It's even less often that I would say that I have all the wisdom I can handle.

Well lets be honest. This conversation just doesn't ever happen:

"Uh, thanks God for the offer, but I think I've got it for today... No, seriously God, look at my bag of wisdom. Yeah its a lil full."

In fact right now my conversations with God are a bit more like this:

"Hey um, God, could you spare a hint of wisdom for me... 'cause you know I got this son and he's only a baby and I don't really know what he needs sometimes. Oh yeah also I'm trying to lead this whole crazy online church thing, and really, no one knows what that's supposed to look like. So any extra wisdom you could throw my way would be tremendous."

I say all that to say this: I'm going to ask for wisdom, because the cool part about that verse is that God follows through.

He generously offers his wisdom to us if only we would honestly and humbly ask.

So, what do you need wisdom for?
